Decreased cytotoxicity of purified natural killer cells from Behçet’s disease patients. NK cells were isolated from BAL cells by magnetic-activated cell sorting. Cytotoxicity and lymphokine-activated killer activity were determined as described in Figure 3. Cytotoxicity [A] and LAK activity [B] of purified NK cells were determined in 5 healthy controls, 3 patients with RA and 7 patients with Behçet’s Disease. Data are shown as box plots. Each box represents the 25th to 75th percentiles. Lines inside the boxes represent the mean. Whiskers represent the 10th and the 90th percentiles. Cytotoxicity was determined at an effector-to-target (E:T) cell ratio of 10:1, 5:1 and 2.5:1.
